Actress Courtney Henggeler is being candid about acting, claiming that the intense requirements of the Hollywood industry, with its low returns, have forced her to quit.
In a substack entry on March 30, the Cobra Kai actress confessed that after spending 20 years doing the “hustle, the grind, sprinkled occassionally with the odd acting job,” she has decided to move on from acting.
The actress revealed that the early part of her career was spent hoping that she’d land a major role some day. The actress candidly shared,
“We survived off the crumbs. We filled our cup with the possibility; our mugs with delusion. Our plates were empty, but a golden goose hung over our heads. Today might be the day. Today might be the day I reach the golden goose. 20 plus years of this.”

Henggeler has a combined net worth of $1 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The actress shared that by bagging the main role of Amanda LaRusso in Netflix’s Cobra Kai, she did achieve a part of her dream. She wrote,
“And I’m considered one of the lucky ones. I was on a series. A successful series. I made money. My face was on the billboards I longed for 20 plus years. I was directed by George Clooney for godsakes. This by all definitions is the golden goose.”
Revealing that she wants more than what is given to her, Courtney Henggeler teased a new role for herself in the entertainment industry. While Henggeler did not reveal the details of her next career move, she did share that she wanted to change how things are done in the industry. She added,
“What if we have been handing our power away because we have been told that this is how it is done. We lose perspective on our own machine, because we are convinced we need another…What if we never needed to run the gauntlet? What if we are the gauntlet?”
