“We begged her. She’s not going to do it." Ganatra told Entertainment Weekly!

Ganatra elaborated that the actress did not reveal any reasons as to why she refused to work in the movie, but discussed her ideas about what would have happened if she were a part of the movie.

“We were going to make her the principal at the school." Ganatra revealed that if not the principal, she would made her a teacher at Anna's school. Anna is the name of Lohan's character.
"When we didn't know if [actor Stephen Tobolowsky] would come back."Ganatra further explained that they also had plans to replace the character of Mr.Bates with Foster. Mr.Bates is Anna's notorious teacher.

The movie Freakier Friday involves more body swapping than the original movie. Written by Jordon Weiss, the film stars Lindsay Lohan as Anna, Curtis as Anna's mother, Tess, Julia Butters as Anna's daughter, Manny Jacinto as her fiancé, and Sophia Hammons as her soon-to-be daughter-in-law.

“It's not very often that you get to work with someone who's been such a big part of your life on a personal level," Lohan expressed her excitement on working again with Curtis to Entertainment Weekly. "That was exciting for me, to come back and do a big-screen film with a woman that I admire, that's part of my life off screen.”

About the OG Freaky Friday

Released on January 21, 1977, Freaky Friday was an American fantasy comedy film that turned out to be one of the most successful films of that year. It was based on a novel of the same name, published in 1972.

The cast of the movie includes Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster in the lead roles along with Patsy Kelly, Dick Van Patten and Josh Astin in supporting roles.

The plot of the movie revolves around a mother and daughter switching their souls to live each other's lives. While the cause of the switch remains unexplained, both the mother and daughter say, 'I wish I could switch places with her just for one day,' while being in different places but saying these words at the exact same time.

A remake of the film was released in 2003 under the same name. It was written by Heather Hash and Leslie Dixon and directed by Mark Waters. Disney made the film and it was the third adaptation of the novel of the same name.

Both movies received positive responses from critics and audiences, and also garnered Golden Globe nominations.
