Saturday Night Live recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of Weekend Update and host Michael Che did not forget to honor late comedian Norm MacDonald. MacDonald was one of the most prominent hosts of the show since he was hired in 1993. While everyone remembers the comedian's sarcastic remarks, many also wonder about his family.

MacDonald passed away on September 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was 61 at the time of his passing.

Throughout his life as a comedian, Norm MacDonald was in the spotlight. However, his then-wife, Connie Vaillancourt MacDonald, stayed away from the limelight. According to The Sun, she was a therapist.

Norm and Connie allegedly tied the knot in 1988. They spent 11 years together before separating in 1999. The same year, MacDonald opened up about his private life during an interview with Rolling Stone. He confirmed their separation, and the comedian never married again. A year before that, MacDonald also confirmed that he planned to move to Los Angeles from New York for work.

The former couple welcomed their only son Dylan MacDonald in 1993. He told the news outlet how he was excited to move to the West Coast as he could be closer to his son who was six at the time. However, he was seemingly not thrilled to be around people from "show business." He said,

"Los Angeles is all the show-business people. It’s cool seeing celebrities from the old days, but there are less and less of them. I only like guys that were famous before I got into show business — everyone else is, like, so what? It’s a one-industry town — which is always boring. And show-business people are even worse, because they think they’re interesting."
