Rapper Kanye West, aka Ye, has reactivated his X (formerly Twitter) account after what can be deemed as a social media sabbatical following criticism for his adult content project. In April 2024, he announced his project of creating adult content under yeezy.com.
As per a TMZ exclusive, the rapper collaborated with actress and director, Stormy Daniels’ ex-husband, Mike Moz, to work out a plan. After his announcement went live, netizens backlashed him which reportedly led to the deactivation of his X account.
However, as per the latest updates, Ye has reactivated his X account, which he created in 2010. It must be noted that he was not suspended from the platform as he deactivated the account some time. Netizens appeared to be happy about his comeback on the platform.
“Here we go again - brace yourselves, it's about to be Kanye Season on the TL,” a person commented.
“Ye is back, the world is healing,” an X user remarked.
“Just in time. We need Ye's thoughts on H1B,” a social media user reacted.
Kanye West had previously discussed his fascination with adult content. According to Billboard, he once told television host, Jimmy Kimmel, that he viewed one of those websites. Ye also mentioned that his addiction to such content affected his family. However, he promised to opt out of viewing such content and engaging in any physical activities in 2022.
Despite all these, his return to the social media platform comes at a time when there is already much hue and cry about his Yeezy products which allegedly feature Nazi-themed designs.
He also faced a lawsuit filed by former teenage employees accusing him of fostering a hostile work environment. Milo Yiannopoulos, Kanye West’s former chief of staff, and Yeezy LLC were named as co-defendants.
Kanye West’s X account was previously suspended in 2022
Ye’s X account activity was stopped in 2022 twice for violating the platform’s rules and regulations. The platform banned his account first for two months after he shared anti-Semitic posts, which were taken down. Nonetheless, after Elon Musk took over the platform in 2022, he reinstated the rapper’s account in October.
This was followed by an interview with conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones, where Kanye West made anti-Semitic comments while referring to the Jewish media, and also praised Adolf Hitler saying he saw good things in him.
In a subsequent post, he shared an image of the swastika symbol inside the Judaist symbol of the Star of David. Kanye West reportedly suggested that this would be the symbol during the 2024 Presidential campaign.
After his problematic posts, his account was taken down and a fan tagged Elon Musk on X suggesting he do something about it. However, Elon Musk said he couldn’t do anything writing:
“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”
In one of Kanye West's X posts from October 2022, he mentioned feeling tired but stated an intent to go "death con 3" on Jewish people. He claimed he couldn't be antisemitic because, in his view, Black people were also Jewish and accused others of attempting to undermine or silence those who opposed their agenda.
