Hannah Kobayashi has been found safe a month after she went missing, the LAPD has reported, per The Guardian. It remains unknown exactly where she was located, though officials have revealed she crossed the border voluntarily and was in Mexico at the time.

Kobayashi disappeared in LA last month, and in the wake of the same, intense search and rescue efforts were initiated. At the time, she was traveling to New York from Maui when she randomly decided to exit the LA International Airport. That was where she was last seen. However, she was not alone.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Hannah Kobayashi tied the knot with her green card husband, an Argentinian native named Alan Cacace. The two were on their way to dupe immigration officials into believing their marriage was real. On the same flight, Kobayashi's ex-boyfriend and Cacace's girlfriend were present-- both of whom were also in a bogus marriage.

Here's what we know about Hannah Kobayashi's disappearance:

Per the outlet, Hannah Kobayashi was given $15,000, and the same was promised to her once again should she and her boyfriend aid in the immigration officials granting Cacace and his girlfriend PR in the US. Reportedly, they got hitched in October, and they were already scheming about the same by then. Kobayashi showed off pictures of the same to her coworkers at the smoke shop Up N Smoke.

Per the outlet, Cacace was under the impression that photos of him and Kobayashi posing in New York would be enough to sway the immigration officials in his favor. One of Kobayashi's co-workers told the outlet that the plans were well underway for a while. Desiree said:

'There was no secret,' Desiree, Kobayashi's co-worker told DailyMail.com. 'She told us about her plans. The Argentinian couple wanted to hop on the trip at the last minute because it presented an opportunity for photos of their "romantic vacation".'

However, things took a turn when Hannah became skeptical about the plan. Per the outlet, Cacace's girlfriend, Marianne, also got insecure about his marriage to Kobayashi. When Desiree began looking into the situation in the wake of Hannah's disappearance, her ex-boyfriend, Miranda, told her to back off. He texted her:

"'She's an adult and l'd heard she'd also possibly had plans in Cali,' he texted. I have no reason to get off a plane and miss time on my own trip for something I thought was as simple as just missing one flight and catching the next available one. I shouldn't have to do anything because her and I had split up 3-4 months ago and agreed to no contact. Her husband is sweet and just a lil guy and wouldn't hurt a fly. He has nothing to do with any of this!"

It remains to be seen how the case plays out. As for her family, in a statement to People Magazine, Hannah Kobayashi's mother and sister expressed their gratitude that she was found:

"We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah has been found safe. This past month has been an unimaginable ordeal for our family, and we kindly ask for privacy as we take the time to heal and process everything we have been through. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us during this difficult time. Your kindness and concern have meant the world to us."

The family did not delve into the details surrounding Hannah Kobayashi's disappearance. Per The Guardian, the LAPD "are happy to learn that Hannah has been found safe," noting that "Now that we have this new information, this has become a private matter and we will wrap up our investigation.”
