According to CBS News, a video has gone viral showing Philadelphia Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley deboarding Marine One alongside President Donald Trump at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey. After getting off the plane, Trump tells the reporters he is a “nice guy” and he “wanted to race him,” but he decides not to do it.
According to reports, the NFL star was spotted with the president on Sunday at the National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the day before the Eagles' White House visit to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory.
A photo from their meeting went viral on the internet. It showed Trump and Barkley sitting next to each other. A dozen “Make America Great Again” hats were on the table directly in front of them. His visit with Trump comes days after Jalen Hurts refused to answer whether he would pay a visit to the president or not to join the celebrations.
Barkley’s recent meetings with the president have divided the internet, with some interpreting it as a sign of support and others viewing it as a non-political, personal engagement. However, he has never claimed to be a Trump supporter or made his political affiliations known.
Here is the other instance that led to speculations that Barkley supports President Donald Trump.
When was Saquon Barkley spotted with Trump’s family?
Saquon Barkley was publicly spotted with Donald Trump and his family earlier this month.
At the J.P. Morgan Tech 100 Summit held in early April 2025, Barkley interacted with Ivanka Trump and her son, gifting him a signed football. Ivanka attended the event with husband Jared Kushner, their son, Theodore, and Jared’s brother, Joshua.
Barkley took to his X account and posted,
"Had an amazing time at the J.P. Morgan tech summit ! Want to give a shoutout to Madhu for having me out.”
He tagged a few other people, including Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner, among others.
According to a report in Athlon Sports, Barkley requested NFL aggregator Dov Kleiman to edit his tweet posted on April 3, 2025. In the tweet, Kleiman claimed he was a Trump supporter. But it was later rectified.
Kleiman then removed the line that mentioned it and re-posted his tweet, which said:
“Wholesome: Eagles star RB Saquon Barkley with President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and her son at the J.P. Morgan Tech 100 summit. Barkley even gave President Trump's grandson a signed football.”
Just then, a user asked him,
"Did you really re-post this cus you got called out for lying and calling Saquon a 'longtime Trump supporter'?"
He responded that he,
“was asked to take it out...He requested that his political beliefs stay private, and I respected that”.
All of these incidents, which signify Barkley's associations with Trump, have triggered the seeming mischaracterization online.
However, there is no evidence as to whether the NFL player has supported Trump publicly. In 2019, he expressed support for Colin Kaepernick. He retweeted his workout video posted by him on X, showing the quarterback training and noting he had been “denied work for 889 days”.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback kneeled during the national anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality and racial oppression, according to a report in the New York Daily News. Reportedly, Trump had strongly criticized Kaepernick's actions.
Notably, several celebrities and sports personalities have been pictured with Trump. Recently, comedian Bill Maher had a private dinner with him at the White House.
