The film has been directed by Ryan Coogler and is distributed by Warner Bros., and it is already creating noteworthy buzz, as fans are able to get a closer look at the project through a recently released trailer.
Plot and setting of Sinners
Sinners is set in the 1930s Jim Crow-era. The Jim Crow era which occurred during the late 19th century to the mid-20th century was a time during U.S history where there were laws that enforced racial segregation and separation. This took place primarily in the south.
These laws that were enforced on the African-American people denied them basic amenities and rights until the Civil Rights movement came into play.
Sinners follows through two twin brothers played by Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther), as the brothers struggle to let go and leave behind their hassled past while going back to their hometown.
Nonetheless, their hopes are shattered when they come across an evil. The official synopsis for the film reads –
"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back"
The film had been filmed in the town of New Orleans, perfectly fitting for some vampiric folklore. New Orlean’s lingering and melancholy background could perfectly intensify the eerie mood of this vampire movie.
