Comedian and actress, Milana Vayntrub, recently launched OnlyPhilanthropy, a spoof of the adult content platform, OnlyFans. Milana launched the platform to raise money for families of color displaced by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
On this platform, Milana aims to share adult content in exchange for cash to fund philanthropic efforts to help victims of the LA fires. Her OnlyPhilanthropy website features the quote behind the initiative which says:
"Use the male gaze to fight the blaze."
Milana has a detailed process for the approach and has explained the idea in the "How it Works" section on her OnlyPhilanthrophy website.
The starting rates as per the website mention that Milana will send a "flirty pic" for a $69 donation, 3 "flirty pics" for a $100 donation, and 5 pics along with a "special place" in Milana's heart for $1000.
After the users forward donation receipts to [email protected], Milana will send the users pictures. She has also noted that while they are "not nudes" they are "more fun than anything I'd post online." Milana has also noted that the pictures are between her and the client and urged users to promise not to share them. As reported by Variety on March 14, Milana has made $200,000 in just four days of operation.
"I'm excited to take male attention"- says Milana Vayntrub
Milana Vayntrub has started an OnlyFans spoof to support BIPOC families affected by the LA fires.
While speaking to Variety about her charity idea in an article published on March 14, Milana Vayntrub says:
"I'm excited to take male attention and alchemize it into resources for women in need. This is about more than one fundraiser, it's about redefining who controls the financial power of online attention."
As per Variety, Milana aims to eventually have other celebrities, influencers, and activists join her "purpose-driven experiment."
On the platform, Milana has also attached an anonymous feedback form for users asking them to "be honest" and share "what worked, what didn't, and what you'd love to see next time."
The platform was launched after Milana in an Instagram post on March 8 noted that she raised over $100,000 in a day for a single mom, her five-year-old with cerebral palsy, and her two teenage daughters who lost everything in the fires.
She also notified her users on how the money helped the family and mentioned that the mother could buy a car, and look for a permanent home while accommodating her son's needs.
