Netflix has officially announced the very first new clip from Troll 2, presenting the fans with a preview of the next installment of its block-bustering Norwegian monster saga. Following the accomplishment of Troll—which turned out to be the most-watched non-English-language film on Netflix — the next Troll film will see the return of paleontologist Nora Tidemann, played by Ine Marie Wilmann, as she deals with a newly arrived, even deadlier troll hazard.

The first Troll film, constructed around Norwegian folklore, followed the annihilation caused by an enormous creature woken from a thousand-year slumber. With the second installment on the surface, Netflix has provided its audiences with a new look at the next clash between humans and these gigantic monsters.

A New Troll Threat Emerges in Troll 2

Set in Norway, Troll 2 follows Nora Tidemann, Andreas Isaksen, played by Kim Falck, and Kristoffer Holm, played by Mads Pettersen, as they come face to face with yet another petrifying troll emerging.

However, this time, Norway's armed forces are better prepared. Unlike in the first installment, where the military was dumbfounded by the creature's power, the new film familiarises its audiences with a groundbreaking weapon called the Sunna Helicopter, a machine designed explicitly to hound trolls using UV light.

The newly released clip by Netflix shows a strained moment within a military facility, wherein the characters react to the presentation of this high-end technological piece of machine. As the Sunna Helicopter is presented, the trailer crowns it as “a lean, mean, troll-killing machine,” implying that Troll 2 will have a more action approach in contrast to its first installment.

While the clip evades disclosing the trolls, the film sets up a massive shift in the narrative. Dissimilar to the first film—where the humans were taken by surprise—this time, they are equipped for battle. However, this new tech machine is adequate on its own to end the raging monster that remains yet to be seen.

Director Roar Uthaug, who directs the new Troll film with Espen Aukan as the writer, articulated his eagerness for the follow-up.

“Making Troll was a lifelong dream come true, and the reception our Norwegian movie has received around the world has been unbelievable,” Uthaug also told Netflix “I am beyond excited that we now get to embark on the next journey of this great adventure.”

Producers Horn and Sinkerud echoed similar ideas, stating -

“We are thrilled to bring Troll 2 to life, again spinning on a Norwegian fairy-tale figure played, directed, and produced by Norwegians.”

With the first official Troll 2 clip out, Netflix has provided viewers with a sneak-peak into what’s next for its troll saga. The sequel is set to bring in new hurdles, new risks, and a new weapon.

As eagerness builds, this new troll film intends to bring in an even more electrifying and intense escapade than its forerunner.
