The 2016 armed robbery trial of Kim Kardashian has begun today at the Palais de Justice in Paris. During Paris Fashion Week in 2016, Kim Kardashian was robbed of $6 million in jewelry at the Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris. She was bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint by thieves, some of whom impersonated police officers.

They stole a staggering amount of Kardashian's jewelry, including her $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West, validating estimates of $6 million to $10 million worth in total.

Kardashian’s personal security guarantees that she is not accessible to the public unless under her husband’s supervision, which makes it possible that the “Grandpa robbers” may have received a tip from one of her drivers revealing that she was alone. French media labeled the culprits as the “Grandpa Robbers” due to their advanced age.

Aomar Aït Khedache, 68, is perceived to be the key conspirator among the suspects. Khedache, in a statement from 2017, was supposed to admit that he was one of the participants in the crime. However, he denied the fact that he was the organizer of the crime, insisting that Kim Kardashian's public display of her valuables made it easy for her to be a target.

Yunice Abbas, aged 77, is another important person who declared that he was the one who kept watch while the theft was taking place. Besides, he wrote a book, "I Sequestered Kim Kardashian," concerning the crime and his part in it.

There is only one thing out of the stolen jewelery that has been found - a diamond cross. The rest is considered to have gone to Belgium.
