Natalie Portman joins John Krasinski in Fountain of Youth, a heist adventure film that brings a Speilbergian mystery in Guy Ritchie's distinct style for Apple. Per IMDb, the film is about:
"Two estranged siblings join forces to seek the legendary Fountain of Youth. Using historical clues, they embark on an epic quest filled with adventure. If successful, the mythical fountain could grant them immortality."
Portman and Krasinki play Luke and Charlotte Purdue, a brother and a sister who team up for a treasure hunt. Eiza González's Esme joins them on their quest and becomes a reliable force to reckon with. Together, they use their knowledge of history to follow the clues. It can lead them to a potentially life-changing potion with mythological traces.
The trailer promises a family-friendly entertainment filled with wonder and suspense. It begins with Luke calling Charlotte, out of blue, and inviting her on the said quest. He reveals that he wants to find the "fountain of youth." So, she doesn't take him seriously. However, she presumably changes her mind since she appears across continents.
The two-minute clip offers a peek into its globe-trotting adventure, presumably in European and Asian countries. This heist film will be available to stream on Apple TV+ in the coming months.
Fountain of Youth: Natalie Portman and John Krasinski co-star as siblings on a quest in Guy Ritchie's latest heist film
Fountain of Youth puts Guy Ritchie's directorial skills to use as he helms this project, all set to release on Apple TV+. Its trailer comes shortly after the premiere of MobLand, a crime thriller series where he served as the director and executive producer. By now, Ritchie is a veteran in the heist genre, having worked on iconic crime comedies like Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
However, unlike his popular work, his latest film feels more like a wholesome entertainment, meant to attract families with lighthearted humor. It is vibrant, and colorful, and looks like a fun time for the Indiana Jones fans.
The film is written by James Vanderbilt, who has previously co-written David Fincher's Zodiac. In addition to that, his past writing credits include the fifth and sixth installments of the Scream franchise and the Andrew Garfield-led Spider-Man movies.
Natalie Portman and John Krasinski lead the film's cast, which also includes Eiza González, Carmen Ejogo, Domhnall Gleeson, Stanley Tucci, Arian Moayed, and Laz Alonso.
Fountain of Youth will premiere on May 23, 2025, on Apple TV+.
