Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney are among the most sought-after actors in today’s entertainment industry. Following their appearance together in Netflix’s 2023 rom-com Anyone But You and the subsequent press tour, rumors have circulated about the two being romantically involved. Unfortunately, despite the outpouring of wishful thinking from social media users, the union was not meant to be, as Sydney was engaged to Jonathan Davino then.
Now that Sweeney has called off her engagement, the buzz has started again and skyrocketed this past weekend when Sydney attended Powell’s younger sister’s wedding in Texas. When asked about Sweeney during his appearance with Olivia Munn and Jenna Bush Hager on* Today with Jenna & Friends* on Wednesday, April 2, the actor discussed their reunion and the potential for a future together beyond friendship.
“You know, timing is everything in this world.”

Additionally, in a recent episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Powell elaborated on his sister Leslie’s wedding and her current relationship with Sydney when asked about the online stir that Sweeney’s appearance at the event caused shortly thereafter.
“Leslie and Syd are obviously great friends and it was a hell of a wedding.”
Glen continued,
"You know, the Powells know how to do it right, and so all the people that love her were there. The Powells know how to crank it up!"
Glen seems to be playing coy about the situation, especially after the pair were spotted eating together at the Dallas restaurant Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex. Of all people, Glen’s mother, Cyndy, did her part to dispel any rumors when asked to comment on the situation by the Daily Mail. She was forthrightly dismissive about a potential romance between the pair and called the chatter totally unfounded.
"[There is] nothing going on behind closed doors. We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her."
A source close to Sweeney told PEOPLE on March 31 that, since her engagement was called off, the actress has found peace by focusing on work.
"She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”
While there is currently no concrete evidence supporting or denying a budding love story between the two actors, we can only stay tuned to this developing story in anticipation of what will happen next.
