Fans just got a glimpse of Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns a.k.a The Leader in Captain America: Brave New World, and the visuals have creeped out fans as he looks absolutely eerie.
Marvel previously released concept art for the character, which impressed fans. However, many are comparing the studio's original image to the recent image Marvel released.
Fans are less than happy over The Leader's visuals and have taken to social media to criticize the studio for not portraying the character accurately.
Tim Blake Nelson was newly cast as the leader, and Marvel has kept visuals of his role under wraps so far, exacerbating fans' anticipation of the character. He is an antagonist in Captain America: Brave New World, although where in the plot he will fit has not yet been disclosed.
The actor has previously discussed his refusal to use CGI to alter his appearance in the film and requested that the physical changes be made practically.
“I requested that we do what we were going to do, practically. Which was a huge help, because I liked being able to feel the weight of the deformation on my head, rather than just wearing dots.”
The new teaser comes shortly after Anthony Mackie found himself in a bit of a tight spot after his controversial stance on what Captain America means, as his statement was blown out of proportion as fans called him out for being 'anti-American'. Although he has clarified his statement and has professed his love for America, the backlash has continued with threats of fans boycotting the film.
