What did Jeff Rabhan say about Chappell Roan?

Music Executive Jeff Rabhan criticized Chappell Roan in a guest post for The Hollywood Reporter for her Grammy speech after she won the Best New Artist category this year. The article was titled, "The Misguided Rhetoric of an Instant Industry Insider."

In his article, Rabhan called Roan said:

"It seems Chappell Roan wants to turn labels into landlors, bosses and insurance providers? Have you ever tried to get your expenses reimbursed from a major label? Yet somehow you want them in charge of health-care claims?"

He slammed Chappell Roan's "call for record labels to pay artists a livable wage and provide healthcare" wildly misinformed. In another H2, he called the artist "the outsider who became the establishment." His comments and criticism of Roan comes after Chappell in her Grammy win speech demanded,

"I told myself if I ever won a Grammy and I got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions off of artists would offer a liveable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists."

Her speech received a standing ovation and a loud round of applause however Rabhan disagreed with the public reaction and instead labeled her as the "scr*ppy indie artist fighting from the fringes" who became "part of the establishment" after stepping onto the Grammy stage. Halsey also took to defend Roan and criticized Rabhan's guest post in her Instagram story.
