Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed in no uncertain terms on Instagram that her boyfriend, Ken Urker, is 99.9% the father of her unborn daughter. She uploaded an image of the paternity test she took on November 5, 2024, effectively squashing all speculations that her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, could be the dad.
Her caption read:
"There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby and while we’ve known for sure from the beginning, I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest. Here are the results showing Ken is the father. Ken is going to be an incredible dad and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl into the world."
However, fans were swift to weigh in, and as one user commented:
"Ryan can now stop grifting."
Others took to X to echo the same:
"It's so sad that you have to prove this to people that don't matter to you. I think it's no one's business who the father of your baby is. The only persons who should care about this are you and your baby daddy! Anyway...Congrats on your pregnancy! I wish you a happy future!" someone else wished them.
"Congratulations. Kind of weird you need to prove this though," yet another claimed.
"Okay…….good…..we are all happy…..I think?" one user online probed.
A section of the internet was ostensibly brutal in chiming in:
"Wonder how Ryan feels about this…" someone else stated.
"Who cares who’s your baby daddy?" another user asked.
"You talking about pregnancy is sooo full of lies!! You always said your a very good liar!! Nobody will ever ever believe YOU AGAIN unfortunately FOR YOU!!!!!!!" another exclaimed.
The internet was divided between those who wished the ex-convict well and those who didn't believe her.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard effectively prevents ex-husband Anderson's name from making it to the birth certificate
Notably, Anderson and Gypsy Rose Blanchard's divorce was not finalized when the baby girl was conceived, and according to Louisiana law, Urker would need permission from both the court and Anderson to assert his paternity.
Louisiana Law asserts that if the mother divorces her husband within 300 days of the baby's delivery, the now ex-husband is automatically presumed to be the father. However, the birth certificate would mention his name if steps are taken to assert the biological father's paternity, such as a DNA test or affidavits.
The 33-year-old Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star revealed her pregnancy to the world on July 9, a mere months after filing for divorce from her ex-husband in April. The two got hitched when Blanchard was still serving time in prison for the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Before Gypsy Rose took the paternity test, given that they divorced just this April, Anderson's name still stood a chance at making it to the birth certificate.
In speaking with People Magazine this May, Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed that she first began courting Urker when the two were just pen pals. She was in prison at the time, and while Urker proposed to her in 2018, the two called it quits years before she got out of jail in 2023.
