Letitia Wright, known for her role in Black Panther, was bestowed with the honor of her very own Madame Tussauds wax figure at the museum of the same name. The figure will be displayed at several outlets, including in Hollywood, Amsterdam, and Sydney.
Wright took to social media to share her joy with the world, and in the photo, she can be seen posing alongside three others in her likeness. All four figures are striking the iconic "Wakanda Forever" pose, and the wax statues are clad in the Black Panther suit.
Notably, while Letitia Wright was under the impression that the wax figures were eerily similar to her, fans could not help but concur. Many took to X to point out that there was virtually no difference, looks-wise, and that Madame Tussauds had "nailed it." Here's what one user commented:
"That wax figure looks like its about to take a deep breath!! This is scary good!!!!"
Others agreed:
"I was like when did she get a twin 😂😂😂 they did good," one user stated.
"Not me thinking the statue was the real one at first. That’s a good one," another shared.
"Now THIS is how you do a wax figure!" someone else commented.
Even more weighed in:
"Honestly the best I’ve seen," someone pointed out.
"The best one yet ! They must’ve gotten black sculptors now," another posited.
"They nailed this! I’m trying to figure out why they can’t seem to get these statues right tho," a third user asked.
The comments didn't end there:
"Now that’s how you do a wax figure from now on that’s how you do a wax figure😭💯🦾," one added.
"😮😮😮😮😮 They’ve been hitting out the park lately!" another exclaimed.
Visibly everyone online was shocked at just how much of a resemblance the wax figures bore to the actress.
Letitia Wright says she was terrified about not being "good enough" for Black Panther
In her caption Letitia Wright echoed the internet's sentiments, noting that they did a great job on these figures:
"Monumental moments. Another stone added to this journey towards legacy. I couldn’t have achieved this without my INCREDIBLE supporters! The Madame Tussauds team did an amazing job! 3 Locations with Shuri!"
In an interview with Marie Claire on November 19, where Letitia discussed her role models, her experience in the industry, and more. When asked about who she would love to work with in the future, she said:
"Can I pick two? Denzel Washington and Leonardo DiCaprio. And Viola Davis, because I’m just going to pick three! They’re all excellent in their crafts. Again, the list could be endless. They’re really great in their art, so I would love to just be on set with them and go back and forth, and see how I can learn and how I can grow."
She then went on to reflect on her first "pinch-me" moment:
"Coming out of the premiere of Black Panther. I just didn’t know what I did. I was just acting every day, and terrified that I wasn’t good enough. And then I saw what was on screen and I saw the way my character impacted so many people around the world, so many young people - especially in STEM. That was a pinch me moment. Like, “Wow, I’ve finally achieved something that I’ve always wanted to”, which was to inspire through my art."
As for her acting career, Letitia Wright has hinted at another possible stint in the third installment of Black Panther, and fans are eagerly awaiting the same.
