Elon Musk knows how to stay relevant on X (formerly Twitter), as he often remains the center of many discussions on the microblogging site for his statements. On Wednesday, January 1, the X boss responded to the news of the Tesla Cybertruck exploding outside Trump International Hotel Las Vegas.

Highlighting how Cybertruck was able to withstand the blast, Elon Musk wrote how the bomber chose the wrong vehicle to execute his plans,

"The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. – Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken."

The talk didn't end there, as others chimed in to give their viewpoints on Tesla Cybertruck,

"Did the battery pack even ignite?," another enquired after being surprised with the explosion's aftermath.
"Put a bomb inside an indestructible tank. Not a great plan," someone shared a "Tony Stark" meme.
"The floor of the bed appears fully enact, therefore the battery probably wasn't even damaged. – That Cybertruck could probably drive," someone pointed out.
"Adding this to the long list of reasons to drive a Cybertruck," a user compared Cybertruck with Ford F-15 Lightning.
"If anyone had ANY doubts about the durability of Cybertruck, this should put all those doubts to bed. – It's a freaking tank," someone declared.

Amid all the replies, a humorous tweet from Satan's parody account stood out, as the poster wrote,

"Glad nobody was hurt but also impressed you've essentially created a vehicle that can withstand hellfire we could use some of that tech down here to improve working conditions just say."

For the uninitiated, the blast took place early in the morning on New Year's Day, near the 64-story Trump's Vegas hotel. After the blast, the only reported casualty was the driver, while at least seven others were believed to be injured. Here's what the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said after the explosion:

"On January 1, 2025 at approximately 8:40 a.m., LVMPD Dispatch received a report of an explosion at a hotel property in the 2000 block of Fashion Show Drive. As officers arrived, they located a Tesla Cybertruck fully engulfed in flames in the valet area. Fire personnel extinguished the fire and discovered a deceased person in the vehicle who was the sole occupant. Seven people sustained minor injuries during the explosion."

37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger was identified as the Cybertruck driver by the authorities. The official statement further revealed,

"Livelsberger was an active-duty United States Army Green Beret who was on approved leave from Germany served with the 10th Special Forces Group."

As per the police statement, Livelsberger acted alone. The cause of his death was found to be an "intraoral gunshot wound," according to a report from the Clark County Coroner. The vehicle was carrying firearms, fireworks, and gas canisters, among other items. However, the motive behind the incident is still unclear, as LVMPD is still investigating.

Many netizens were initially connecting the Vegas explosion with the truck attack in New Orleans that claimed 15 lives. At the time of writing, no connection has been established between the two incidents other than both drivers having served at the same US Army base at one point.
