Tamar Braxton made clear, in no uncertain terms, her dissatisfaction with the nation's status quo. The staunch Harris supporter took to Instagram on November 7 to vent her frustrations and feelings of betrayal at Donald Trump's election as president-elect.
With tears welled up in her eyes, Tamar Braxton said she felt let down by those who claimed to be fellow Harris supporters but failed to prove it at the polls. The Love and War creator also called the nation a "liar," noting that everyone around her also deceived her.
However, the internet was far from sympathetic to Tamar Braxton's cries, as scores online began ridiculing her. Many claimed that she was taking it a step too far, and there was nothing she had to cry over:
"😂😂😂😂😂 yall need to stop with this so dramatic lol."
The rest of the internet was divided between those who mocked Tamar Braxton and those who felt her pain:
"Tamar needs therapy and strong prescription medication," one user urged.
"This election is showing all the ppl that needs therapy n needs to disconnect from social media , wtf is she crying for go get help lol," another asserted.
"Imagine being rich and feeling oppressed. wtf!" another user exclaimed.
"Y’all getting on my nerves," somebody declared.
The reactions continued to pour in:
"You wasn't by yourself Tamar I cried too," one user empathized.
"I’m loving all of the crying! It’s str8 comedy! 😎😂" another joked.
"Mam, how you feel about yourself has nothing to do with the election," somebody dissed.
Others encouraged her to move on, noting that there was nothing anyone could do for the next four years.
Tamar Braxton loudly sings a diss track, targeting America and all the "liars"
In the clip, Tamar Braxton can be heard exercising her vocal cords:
"It goes like this ... America is a liar, yeah, yeah, yeah. Y’all lied… Lied, lied, lied, lied. Oh my god, I cried myself to sleep last night ... I don’t trust’em (America). I don’t trust none of y’all. Oh my god, y’all sat up here and said ‘Kamala,’ ‘Kamala,’ ‘Kamala.’"
Her tirade went on:
"I feel so unaccomplished as a Black woman. So unappreciated. Like y’all would rather have someone who blatantly says, ‘Grab them by the p**y’ and give them a microphone like they giving a b**w j*b…”
Tamar Braxton joins a growing list of celebrities who have voiced their discontent at the new, imminent regime under Trump. Just after the elections, Cardi B was among the first few to take to her Instagram to pen a heartfelt vote of encouragement to the Vice President, saying:
"To Vice President Kamala, no matter what they've said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency, they can never say you didn't run your race with honesty and with integrity! You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you! You never accept defeat as an option which says so much about your strength and about your heart. You really wanted better for ALL of us (sic)."
Her post continued:
"This may not mean much, but I am so proud of you! No one has ever made me change my mind and you did! I never thought I would see the day that a woman of color would be running for the President of the United States, but you have shown me, showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible (sic)."
She signed off by referring to Harris as "an example," someone who's "empowered," and "a real example of what the American dream should be (sic)."
Other celebrities, such as Christina Applegate, Plies, and LeBron James, have also expressed their concerns about the presidential election's outcome.
