Blake Lively's legal team has responded to Justin Baldoni's $400 million lawsuit against the actress, which was filed in the Southern District of New York on January 16.

In the lawsuit, Baldoni and his lawyers accuse Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of defamation and extortion by claiming that Baldoni mistreated Livley on the sets of It Ends With Us. The filing mentions that Lively,

"Unequivocally left them with no choice, not only to set the record straight in response to Lively's accusations, but also to put the spotlight on the parts of Hollywood that they have dedicated their careers to being the antithesis of."

While responding to Baldoni's lawsuit, Blake's legal team, in a statement, mentioned,

"This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook. This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of s*xual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender."

This comes after the New York Times published an expose headline by Lively on December 21 detailing the actress' claims against her It Ends with Us co-star over alleged mistreatment over filming.

A day before the article was published, Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department claiming Baldoni invaded her privacy by "entering her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed" and pressured her to lose weight four months after she gave birth.

"Their strategy of attacking the woman is desperate" - Blake Lively's lawyers say

While responding to Justin Baldoni's recent lawsuit against Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, Lively's lawyers mentioned that Baldoni's associates were desperate to "shift the narrative." In a statement, the lawyers noted,

"(Baldoni and his associates) are trying to shift the narrative to Ms. Lively by falsely claiming that she seized creative control and alienated the cast from Mr. Baldoni. The evidence will show that the cast and the others had their own negative experiences with Mr. Baldoni and Wayfarer."

The statement also mentioned that Baldoni while responding to sexual harassment allegations in his lawsuit, allegedly implies that Blake Lively "wanted it" and "it's her fault." The statement also notes that the lawsuit justifies Lively's allegations by focusing on what Lively was wearing and added that "while the victim focuses on the abuse, the abuser focuses on the victim" and called their "strategy" to attacking Lively with a lawsuit "desperate."
