More about Wendy Williams' health
Wendy Williams had been placed under court-ordered legal guardianship in May 2022. The former TV host had been suffering from other medical issues including dementia, Graves' disease, lymphedema, and alcohol abuse.
In her docuseries, Where Is Wendy Williams, Williams appeared to be forgetful and erratic, as per Radar Online, prompting her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey to file a lawsuit alleging that A+E Networks exploited Wendy and therefore she could not return to the series. According to another court filing by Morrissey, Wendy "has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated."
As per an insider, Wendy had been reportedly living in a mystery facility with limited access and her friends and family barely got to get through to her. The source also raised questions including,
'The question remains, who is really looking after Wendy? She's stayed hidden behind walls and closed doors and may not have long to live. There things can progress very fast. People who know her and care about her would like to know, but for some reason they're not being told anything and their attempts to reach Wendy are blocked."
The insider also called the situation, "frustrating and hurtful" as her "physical and mental state declines" and noted that people close to her would like to know the identity of the person looking after her.
The lack of communication about Wendy's situation caused fans to also rally for her.
