Scottish TV host Lorraine Kelly is the newest addition to celebs who have blasted Katy Perry for her Blue Origin space mission, which took place on April 14.
Kelly, on an episode of Good Morning Britain on April 22, Lorraine discussed what viewers could expect on her own show and mentioned that her guest and comedian, Joe Lycett, could be heading into space.
When hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid questioned if it would be similar to the Blue Origin flight, Lorraine responded, saying,
"Don't get me started about that. I'm fuming. I'm fuming."
When asked about the reason behind her reaction, Lorraine emphasized,
"Because they cannot call themselves astronauts when they were up on a jolly for 11 minutes. And there already has been an all-women crew up in space proper-proper astronauts. It was ridiculous."
She then went on to describe Katy Perry as "that woman with her daisy," referencing footage of Katy Perry in the spacecraft holding a daisy in front of the camera as a tribute to her daughter, Daisy.
"That woman with her daisy. Shut up. Just shut up. Go away and leave me alone."
Susanna responded that she was looking forward to Lorraine's next interview with the pop star. Lorraine Kelly is another addition to the list of celebs, including Emily Ratajkowski, Olivia Munn, Kesha, and Olivia Wilde, among others. Perry was part of the all-female crew, including Gayle King, Lauren Sanchez, Aisha Bowe, Kerianna Flynn, and Amanda Nguyen, that took off in a Blue Origin spacecraft on April 14. The space mission lasted for a total of 11 minutes.
