The Jurassic World Rebirth trailer is about to drop within a few hours and offer a peek into the direction that this franchise will take. It comes after the Chris Pratt-led Jurassic World Dominion with an all-new cast of well-known faces. While that is enough to gauge the fans' attention, there is more to be excited about. As a franchise that revolves around dinosaurs, it needs to find refreshing ways to bring these creatures back on screen.

The new films need to align with the predecessors, and the stakes need to be high enough for the audience to care about them. Even the Dinosaur-related details need to be just as exciting to pull the Jurassic Park franchise lovers to the big screens.

Keeping that in mind, Jurassic World Rebirth producer shares a key insight that teases dinosaur mutations in the film. He briefly talks about a new squad that hopes for a medical breakthrough as it tries to correct the mistakes made in a research lab.

Here's a brief excerpt from his latest interview with Vanity Fair, where he talks about the new set of dinosaurs in Jurassic World Rebirth:

"These are the dinosaurs that didn’t work. There are some mutations in there. They’re all based on real dinosaur research, but they look a little different."

Jurassic World Rebirth will reportedly have "dinosaurs that didn’t work"

The Jurassic World Rebirth trailer is finally upon us, and it's the right time to brush up on some details about this new installment of the Jurassic Park franchise. Its official synopsis reads:

“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

Jurassic World Rebirth brings Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey as the members of a team “racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air," per Universal Pictures.

Now, the film's producer, Frank Marshall, has revealed some crucial details about the kind of dinosaurs the fans will get to see in the new film. While speaking with Vanity Fair, here's what he said:

“The story follows members of a recovery team—led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey—as they venture to an island near the equator that was once home to the first Jurassic Park research lab. The squad is trying to retrieve genetic material that could lead to a medical breakthrough for humanity, but three decades later the mistakes made at that ruined facility have not gone away."

He further adds:

"They’ve endured—and only grown bigger. These are the dinosaurs that didn’t work. There are some mutations in there. They’re all based on real dinosaur research, but they look a little different."

Jurassic World Rebirth is scheduled to be out in theaters on July 2, 2025.
