Fans of John Cena and WWE enthusiasts can never forget his heel turn last month at the Elimination Chamber event. Cena's heel turn came as nothing but a huge shock to his fans, as they never saw that coming. Cena, who has been one of the good guys of WWE for the last 22 years, turned out to be the villain and joined his longtime rival Dwyane Johnson, commonly known by his WWE stage name The Rock.
Last month's Monday Night Raw in Brussels, Belgium, revealed another side of John Cena when he addressed his fans and ranted against them, making it clear that he does not care about them anymore, nor does he care about the WWE universe. Not to mention, after turning his heels, he also attacked Cody Rhodes. However, it seems things have taken a different turn, as the 16-time world champion hinted that there will be more "unpredictability" coming.
In a recent conversation with People, the renowned actor/wrestler, while he was in Budapest, spoke about and discussed one of the biggest plot twists in the history of WWE. The 47-year-old wrestler said,
"I'm going to say that there's more unpredictability on the way."
On April 20, 2025, a one-on-one world title match has been set up between the two champions, John Cena and Cody Rhodes, in Las Vegas. The upcoming match has been set up after last month's Elimination Chamber event made global headlines. When People asked Cena to reveal some details about the upcoming match, he politely diverted the question and explained:
"Here's the stance I'm going to take on it, and I think hopefully I can put it in terms you can understand: We're in the middle of a very riveting season of episodic television and you are kindly asking me to give you spoilers, and I can't do that."
Cena further added:
"What I did really enjoy about your question is you expressed the unpredictability of WWE programming, and I think that's one strong point of the current state of WWE is its unpredictability in its programming."
Is John Cena retiring from WWE?

Well, in July 2024, the multiple-time WWE world champion and the Peacemaker star announced his retirement from professional wrestling. However, one never knows what could happen next. By looking at how unpredictable the show has become, we can see that anything can happen at any moment. If Cena can turn into a villain after being one of the good folks for 22 years, well, who knows, he might stick around for a bit longer.
