Emma Heming Willis, wife of retired American actor Bruce Willis, recently took to Instagram to share a video message where she delivered a heart-warming message about the importance of caregivers.

She shared the message amid the recent news of Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa's demise. On March 10, the Make Time Wellness founder noted on Instagram that she doesn’t usually comment on things like these, but it is high time that people start caring about caregivers too.

"So this is not something I would normally comment on, but I do really believe that there is some learning in this story," Willis, 46, mentions speaking about the demise of Hackman, 95, and Betsy, 65 as the couple was found dead in their home in New Mexico.
"It's just made me think of this broader story, and that is that caregivers need care too and that they are vital, and that it is so important that we show up for them so that they can continue to show up for their person," said Willis.

She spoke about the misconception that caregivers have everything under control and how they often neglect their own well-being. She captioned the video:

"Caregivers need care too. Period. Full Stop."

On March 7, authorities issued a statement that both Hackman and Arakawa died of natural causes. Arakawa reportedly died on February 11 due to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. She was seen alive on that day, as stated by Chief Medical Examiner Heather Jarrell.

Meanwhile, Hackman passed away on February 18 due to heart disease, according to reports, as his pacemaker was functional till that day. Jarrell told E! News that Hackman was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and might not have been aware of his wife's death.

As per authorities, a caretaker in the gated community informed authorities that the couple wasn't moving and asked to send someone quickly. Arakawa was found on the bathroom floor when police arrived at Hackman’s home. She was dressed in sweatpants, and prescription bottles were scattered on the floor.

Hackman was also found on the floor near the kitchen with a cane and sunglasses. One of the couple’s three dogs, an Australian Kelpie mix named Zinna, was also found dead in the closet.

While the warrant suggests that there was no sign of any foul play, the circumstances in which the bodies were found are suspicious.

The worker who informed police of the couple’s deaths said he had last spoken to them two weeks before. He used to communicate with Arakawa via text or calls. Adan Mendoza, Santa Fe County Sheriff, told the Santa Fe New Mexican that there is no danger in the neighborhood.

"All I can say is that we’re in the middle of a preliminary death investigation. I want to assure the community and neighborhood that there’s no immediate danger to anyone."

Hackman's children Leslie and Elizabeth, along with their granddaughter Annie, released a statement noting their sadness over Hackman's and Arakawa's demise.
