American rapper Safaree was reportedly spotted at ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 tour on October 6, 2024. However, his presence at the concert was not well-received by Minaj’s fans as several turned to criticizing him. On October 7, 2024, the rapper posted on X where he wrote:

“I’m proud no cap… a lot of yalll will never understand but there is no malice in me… I’m proud.”

As per The Express Tribune, he had previously hinted to fans that he would attend the concert in disguise. While he kept his promise, his fans were not moved by the act. One X user wrote:

“Then apologize!”

Netizens criticized Safaree for allegedly spreading lies about Nicki Minaj. Others demanded a public retraction.

“no MALICE ? you went on a whole press tour spreading lies about you writing for her, disrespected her every chance you got… what you’re doing is staIk-ish and obsessive, but I get it. like imagine fumbling a woman like this?” a person commented on X.
“if there’s no malice in you then publicly tell these folks once and for all that you ain’t never wrote no nicki minaj bars. that was a low blow bc you know how much that means to nicki, and her haters continue drag that lie on to this day!” a user reacted.
“We would understand if you didn’t used to talk shit and LIE saying you wrote for her. be proud of her…. at home and watch her from ur phone like you always do tf,” another person wrote.

Some responded to his statement with indifference, while others commented that attending Nicki Minaj’s concert wasn't a huge gesture.

“announcing this like we gaf,” a netizen wrote.
“showing up with a Jean vest is crazy and unserious das all I wanna say,” an X user commented.
“You getting jumped after the show let me tell you that!” a netizen reacted.

Safaree was reportedly escorted out of Nicki Minaj’s concert

Fans noticed Safaree in the audience wearing a jean vest and heckled him throughout the concert. Some speculated that he was eventually escorted out by his security team.

From music videos and live performances to songwriting credits, the former couple did everything together. However, their paths diverged, leading them in different directions.

Nicki Minaj is married to Kenneth Petty and has a son. Petty was also reportedly present during the concert. Safaree has two kids with his ex-wife Erica Mena.

The two first crossed paths in Queens, New York, in 2000. Before signing with Young Money Entertainment, Minaj briefly joined the rap group Hoodstars in 2002, which included four members: Lou$tar, 7even Up, Minaj, and Safaree. The two eventually left the group to focus on solo careers.

By 2014, it was official that Safaree and Minaj had broken up because Safaree had become increasingly jealous of Minaj’s rising success. After their separation, they engaged in a heated feud on social media, with Safaree at one point alleging that he had written most of Nicki Minaj’s songs. Minaj strongly denied the accusation, responding that the rapper was merely attempting to undermine her.
