Kristen Stewart will be one of the wrong girls in the upcoming movie that'll see Dylan Meyer in her directorial debut. Seth Rogan, Tony Hale, Kumail Nanjiani, Zack Fox, and LaKeith Stanfield are joining Stewart in the film. More actors may join the cast, but these are currently the confirmed names, according to Variety. Philadelphia-based indie rock band Mannequin Pussy will appear in the film too.
Neon is distributing The Wrong Girls internationally, and this will be the third project they are collaborating on with The Twilight Saga fame. As of now, the company has set a release for seven films in 2025, including The Monkey, The Actor, Shelby Oaks, and more.
The Wrong Girls is doing the right thing
The film has already begun filming in Los Angeles, which recently witnessed horrendous wildfires, dealing with substantial damage. The Wrong Girls is said to employ 100 people every day and the majority will be local residents.
It comes as a shining light on the industry as well, given that the wildfires affected the industry while also canceling major events. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, and Billy Crystal lost their homes to the disaster.
A lot of TV and movie productions came to a halt following this too, including Grey's Anatomy, Fallout, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle remake, and more. The Hollywood industry was still recovering from the COVID-19 blow and this simply added to the recovery time.
However, with films like The Wrong Girls well into making, this is a good sign that the industry is again up and running. However, not all were affected. Companies like Disney, Paramount Pictures, and more continued to operate unaffected as the studios are located a bit far from the affected region.
Apart from that, the wildfires destroyed some famous Hollywood landmarks including Palisades Charter High School (featured in Havoc, Crazy/Beautiful, and more), Will Rogers’ ranch house (featured in Funny Lady), and more.
This wasn't certainly a great start for Hollywood, but we are set for some highly anticipated films, including Mickey 17, The Amateur, The Accountant 2, and more. As for the upcoming Neon film lead, she is also working on upcoming projects like The Challenger and The Chronology of Water.
She was recently seen in Love Me, a post-apocalyptic romance film, where she assumed the role of a weather buoy who falls in love with a passing satellite (played by Steven Yeun).
