The Studio trailer promises a fun-packed show
The trailer of The Studio opens with a panic-stricken background of a newsreader warning of chaos and asking people to take shelter. Meanwhile, in an apocalyptic setting, we find Josh Hutcherson and Johnny Knoxville facing off against a zombie. When the zombie shoots diarrhea all over Hutcherson, he asks,
‘I got dooked! Does this mean I’m gonna die?’
To which Knoxville replies,
‘We all gotta die sooner or later buddy and you’re dying sooner,’ and raises a sword. The scene is from an upcoming movie comically titled Duhpocalypse.
The screen cuts to a board room with executives debating the movie clip, with Kathryn Hahn informing everyone that movie theatres are refusing to play the trailer because of the uncomfortable content. The team of studio executives are trying to find ways to market the satirical movie about zombies with diarrhea. Knoxville argues saying,
‘Are we losing the point of the film in the comedy? We made a dark satire about medical disinformation, and I don’t want that to get lost.”
While Rogen shares his opinion,
‘No. It’s true. It’s a very deep and complex film, but I want that diarrhea explosion in the trailer.’
The show follows Rogen, who stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of the fictional Continental Studios, a movie studio that is crumbling under pressures of creative differences and corporate bureaucracy. The Studio navigates through the movie-making business in the modern world, as Matt and his team battle their own insecurities while handling artists and studio politics.
The Apple TV+ original series has an ensemble star cast of Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Dewayne Perkins. The show will also include cameos from the likes of Charlize Theron, Ron Howard, Zac Efron, Martin Scorsese, Zoe Kravitz, and Anthony Mackie among others.
Produced by Lionsgate Television, the show will comprise of 10-episodes starting from March 26th through May 21st, 2025. This is Seth Rogen’s second collaboration for Apple TV + after Platonic alongside Rose Bryne.
With a stellar star cast and established showrunners, The Studio is one of the more anticipated shows of the year.
