NBA All-Star Weekend is coming to San Francisco, and in celebration, Jordan Brand hosted an all-out drone show featuring iconography from the brand. "The sky is the new billboard!": the Internet reacts to the unofficial kick-off for the upcoming celebrations. The brand put on a dazzling light show using drones over the Bay Bridge and lit up the California night sky.
The show was an homage to the 40th Anniversary of Air Jordan 1, achieved using 1,200 drones that took off from Treasure Island, creating iconography synonymous with the popular brand. The sneaker was first released in 1985 by Nike and has since amassed a worldwide following, with drops selling out within minutes. However, the brand is not just about the sneakers; it's a lifestyle emanating from Michael Jordan's impact and legacy.
The images featured in the drone show included a detailed rotating sneaker, the number 23 (Michael Jordan's number in the Bulls), and a luminescent red Jumpman logo.
This year marks the first time the All-Star game will be hosted in San Francisco, while it's the third time it's taking place in the Bay Area, hence the Bay Bridge showcase, which connects the cities of San Francisco and Oakland.
