Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is going to be one legendary ride as an array of big stars have joined the epic film that will center on Homer's classic poem. Led by Matt Damon as the titular character of Odysseus, speculations have surrounded the casting of all the other characters who are a part of the project.
Even though Nolan or Universal Pictures, who are distributing the film, have made no announcements yet, Greek media has given fans a peek into the film's casting.
Matt Damon, as mentioned will be playing the role of Odysseus, who is the King of Ithaca and has not been able to return home because he angered Poseidon. Set photos of Matt have been released earlier where he sports a Greek headgear ad outfit.
Perhaps the second biggest role in the movie is that of Tom Holland, who will be playing the role of Telemachus, Odysseus's son. Telemachus is 20 years old when he sets out to look for his father and later earns the companionship of Athena as well, played by Zendaya. The latter is his protectress as well.
Anne Hathaway is bringing Odysseus's life on screen as she plays the role of Penelope, Odysseus' wife. In the poem she is approached by hundreds of suitors, all of whom she rejects as she waits for Odysseus's return.
Apart from that, Lupita Nyong'o is cast as Clytemnestra while Benny Safdie is all set to be Agamemnon. Charlize Theron is also a part of the cast, having been chosen to play Circe in the epic film.
