Directed by Shane Black, The Predator is the fourth movie of the long-running franchise categorized under the science fiction action genre. The movie hit the box office on September 14, 2018, starring Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Jacob Tremblay, and Brian A. Prince in some of the lead roles.

With a troubled production and controversies related to storyline and casting, the movie reportedly did not receive much appreciation and is one of the lowest-rated films in the action series with a score of 34% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.3/10 on IMDb.
The official announcement of the movie came in 2014 followed by a production tease after two years. Arnold Schwarzenegger was reportedly in talks of having a cameo (Dutch Schaefer) but the offer was turned down by the actor because of the small impact of the role.
According to reports, Steve Wilder who was initially cast in a small part was later cut out of the production as his name was on the register of sex offenders. The event was followed by disturbances on set as Olivia Munn (playing the role of Casey Bracket) disagreed to be on screen with Wilder.
Moreover, some reviews slammed the movie for how autism was showcased on screen.
The ending of The Predator was reportedly re-shot in July 2018, following poor test screenings. Keeping all the controversies related to production aside, after Netflix recently took the streaming rights to The Predator, it has secured the top spot on the Global Charts.
What was The Predator about?
The story of The Predator is set somewhere between that of the 1990s movie and Predators 2010. A scientist and a group of post-war soldiers go on a mission to fight off a deadly alien race from the face of Earth and also learn their secret plan with the planet.
After the crash of an alien ship on Earth, the team discovers samples of genetically modified human DNA and further learns that the 'Predators' are trying to use genetic engineering to create a hybrid more evolved species.

Fans have reportedly reacted in different ways often praising the cast while criticizing the storyline's certain aspects. One user on Reddit, butchfatalez has replied to a post and added on the autism subject of the movie by saying,
"wish i got the uberautism that lets me understand alien technology instead of the autism that makes me collect toys
Another user on Reddit, hunterslaughter mentioned,
"Was as*.They made it a parody. The classic predator is treated like a b**ch. Thomas Jane should’ve been the main character. He’s a proven leading man in creature movies. He was wasted. And turned into a joke. Lots of bad CGI W*F moments. Like when the guy blows his own head off."
After a gap of eight years and following the most successful Predator movie in 2010, The Predator has reportedly found it difficult to shine bright at the global box office as a result of low ratings on numerous grounds.
With unexpected viewer ratings and criticism from the fans on its story, the movie has got less popularity. However, after Netflix started its streaming on the platform, there has reportedly been a sharp rise in the Global Movie Chart but reviews have not gotten any better.
