UnitedHealthcare CEO murder suspect Luigi Mangione was escorted to a federal prison in New York on December 19 after spending 10 days at a jail in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
He was first driven to the Altoona-Blair County Airport, where he boarded a jet to Islip, New York, in an NYPD helicopter to Manhattan.
Upon his arrival in Manhattan, Mangione was led into a black van. Mangione sported a new haircut while being surrounded by cameras, and tight security during his walk to the van, with the CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence analyst John Miller saying,
"The security around Mangione today is because of what they've been seeing in terms of the public support for him and their security worries about somebody not trying to attack him, but to try and free him from law enforcement.'
After videos of his walk made waves all over social media, netizens took to the comment section, admiring his new haircut, and showing support for the murder suspect with one user calling him,

More about Luigi Mangione's new federal charges
On the morning of December 19, Luigi Mangione made his way to Blair County courthouse in Hollidaysburg where his first hearing dealt with the forgery and firearm charges in Pennsylvania. In a second hearing, Mangione was asked if he wished to waive extradition, to which he reportedly replied saying, "yes."
As per CNN, four federal charges were unsealed in a complaint midday; including two counts of stalking, a count of murder through the use of a firearm, and a firearm offense.
The federal complaint includes evidence of a notebook allegedly in his possession which "contained several handwritten pages that express hostility toward the health insurance industry and wealthy executives in particular."
If Mangione is found guilty of the federal murder charge, he could possibly face death by penalty. However, that decision will be ultimately taken by the US Attorney General.
Currently, Luigi Mangione is reportedly held in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.
