Jenna Fischer, best known for her role as Pam Beesly in The Office, in a post on Instagram on October 8, revealed that she is now cancer-free after receiving treatment.

In the post, Fischer mentioned she was diagnosed with Stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer in December 2023 after an inconclusive mammogram, which led to a breast ultrasound.

"I never thought I'd be making an announcement like this but here we are. Last December, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer. After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer-free."

The Instagram post featured a series of images through her cancer diagnosis and treatments.

In her Instagram post, Jenna Fischer detailed the reasons for posting about her recent health updates. The actress mentioned that she had a lumpectomy to remove a tumor on January 1 and was lucky that her cancer was caught early so that it didn't spread into her lymph nodes or into the rest of the body.

Fischer began 12 rounds of chemotherapy in February and started three weeks of radiation in June.

The actress continues to be treated with infusions of Herceptin and a daily dose of Tamoxifen and says she's "feeling great."

Fischer lost her hair during chemotherapy but wore wigs and hats with hair. While talking about the reason she is making a public announcement, Jenna Fischer said that she's ready to ditch the wigs,

"Two, to implore you to get your annual mammograms. You can also ask your doctor to calculate your Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score and get any additional screenings required. I'm serious, call your doctor right now. My rumor was so small it could not be felt on a physical exam. If I had waited six months longer, things could have been much worse."

The actress hopes the news of her journey will be a "source of support" to women who are going through cancer treatment right now. She knows that for people who have had cancer diagnosis, their life changes immediately and become more about doctor treatments, test results, treatments, and recovery.

Jenna mentioned she had been able to work while receiving treatment and gave credit to her friend Angela Kinsey, who supported her through the journey. She also acknowledged her kids, aged 10 and 13, and her husband were pillars of support, and the actress mentioned that they got through the difficult times as a family.
