Christopher Nolan's next project, The Odyssey, is an adaptation of Homer's Greek epic of the same name, and fans are excited. Nolan's adaptation will have a powerhouse cast that includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong’o, and the film is scheduled to open worldwide on July 17, 2026,
The Odyssey will see Nolan collaborating with Universal Pictures once again after Oppenheimer, the Cillian Murphy starrer biopic about 'the father of the atomic bomb' that won multiple Oscars and became the highest-grossing biopic ever at the global box office. The 2023 film achieved this feat despite being nearly three hours long and being mainly conversational.
Nolan's new project, The Odyssey, is being mounted as a mythic action drama based on Homer's poem that is said to have been composed around the 8th century BCE. This is Nolan's fourth period film after The Prestige (2006), Dunkirk (2017) and last year's Oppenheimer.
Once he has completed the script, Nolan gets into production with his real-life partner, Emma Thomas, under their banner, Syncopy. Shooting is slated to start next year. Here are the details about the epic film.
