Netflix has got something savory for the fans, and it's the black comedy The Menu starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Ralph Fiennes, and more. The film follows a young couple who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island, only to discover the disturbing secrets behind the establishment. Data aggregator FlixPatrol shows the film gained a couple of spots to reach number one in the United States recently, followed by Back in Action and Renegades.

Other movies in the top ten charts at the time of writing include Lucca's World, Here, You, Me and Dupree, The Boss Baby, Fallen, Minions, and The Secret Life of Pets. The Boss Baby and Minions are the two leading the Top 10 kids movies charts too.

Ralph Fiennes plays the celebrity chef Julian Slowik operating a restaurant in The Menu that Margot Mills (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Tyler Ledford (Nicholas Hoult) join alongside other guests. Little does everyone know that this is going to be the final visit, as they are no better than lambs being led to a slaughter.

Like the ingredients are handpicked by a chef, the guests too are handpicked by Julian. Every single one of them has something to do with him that eventually led him to lose his passion for the craft.

The Menu was a critical as well as a commercial success, with it sitting fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, having 88% approval ratings by critics. IMDb has given it a score of 7.2 out of 10 at the time of writing. Talking commercially, it garnered $79.6 million against a $30 million budget.

Although, speaking award-wise, The Menu wasn't really lucky for that matter as it won only a couple that include Best Actor in a Horror Movie at Critics' Choice Super Awards and Audience Award at Fantastic Fest. Though it was nominated in several ones, including the Golden Globe Awards, Writers Guild of America Awards, Hollywood Critics Association, and more.

Mark Mylod serves as the film's director, who is known for Shooting Stars, The Fast Show, and The Royle Family. He has also directed six episodes of one of the most popular TV series of all time, Game of Thrones.

Considering top movies on Netflix streaming globally, Back in Action, Lucca's World, and Sentinel were leading the game yesterday. Though Back in Action is on the top, it initially failed to gain critical success with the film having 27% approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.
