Shazam! actor Zachary Levi took to the stage during an event in Michigan on Saturday, September 28, to officially endorse former President Donald Trump. The endorsement came during a gathering of conservatives on the "Team Trump's Reclaim America Tour."

During the event, Levi also moderated a conversation between former Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy and former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. He said, during his speech, that "of the two choices that we have, Donald Trump, President Trump, is the man that can get us there.”

He further mentioned:

"We’re here for unity...whether you’re a Democrat or a Republic... every one of us is a child of God. We’re here to make sure that we are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again. We are going to make it healthy again. And so, I stand with Bobby, and I stand with Tulsi, and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. He’s gonna get us there because he’s gonna have the backing and the support and the wisdom and the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former representative Tulsi Gabbard."

Fans react to Zachary Levi's statements, dubbing him "not a good enough actor"

However, the internet was not happy with his stance, as many began inundating social media with their disapproval of the actor who voiced Flynn in Tangled. "The Hero has lived long enough to become the Villain," one user commented on Reddit.

Others took to various platforms like X and Instagram, only to echo similar sentiments.

"Who? I thought we didn’t care about celebrity endorsements? Ok, we’ll keep Taylor Swift and you can have the Zachary Zacherson character," one user dissed.
"‘Superstar’ is doing some heavy lifting here pal," another quipped.
"This isn’t really surprising but it’s really f**king disappointing. Shazam was my favorite DC movie, idk how I’m gonna watch it the same way again knowing this. F*ck Zachary Levi. He says he doesn’t trust the government but is voting for the man who will strip people of rights," one user spewed.

Several more resorted to making memes and jokes at the actor's expense.

"Zachary Levi is not a good enough actor to survive being a full fledged conservative MAGA Trumper. He should have hid it like other celebrities do," one user pointed out.
"I used to love Zachary Levi back when he was in Chuck and Tangled… I’ve got no respect for him anymore though, he always seemed like a genuinely good guy but to support a racist, r*pist, and serial liar I was clearly wrong about him. What a shame," another claimed.
"Literally no one knows who this is lol," another user dissed.

Zachary Levi says he has a "healthy level of distrust for industry that runs amok”

During the event, Zachary Levi also acknowledged that his move would likely culminate in “career suicide, noting that "Hollywood is a very, very liberal town." He also said, during the event,

"I’m not gonna take too much time, but I just wanna give you a little context about why Shazam is sitting here talking to you about these various things. I grew up in a family that was Christian conservative; that was pretty much the lane we were in. My parents were Kennedy Democrats who then turned into Reagan Republicans. They taught me to have a healthy level of distrust for the government and a healthy level of distrust for industry that runs amok.”

He also reflected on his path to choosing Trump, noting that all he wanted was to find a politician to resonate with. He said:

"For a long time, I was like, ‘Man, I really want to find a politician that represents all of the things that I want and I want to see in a presidential candidate.’ And this year, I found Bobby Kennedy, and I thought, ‘Man, this guy is it. He’s the real deal.’ And in a perfect world, whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby. But we don't live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we're here to stop that."

Zachary Levi is no stranger to controversy, for in the past, the Shazam actor made headlines when he denounced the Pfizer vaccine on X in 2023. When someone posed the question that the vaccine may be a "real danger to the world," Levi responded by saying, "Hardcore agree."
