Things are getting closer as we're just a few hours away from The Fantastic Four: First Steps' first trailer, and what a date, February 4, just perfect. Marvel is slowly revealing everything surrounding this movie, with the latest being the poster of the film. Along with the poster comes familiar names inscribed on a launch button, indicating the obvious.
After a reboot that failed drastically in 2015, this is the first Fantastic Four film that will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pedro Pascal is playing Reed Richards with Vanessa Kirby taking on the mantle of Sue Storm. Joseph Quinn is playing her brother Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm here.
Marvel prepares for The Fantastic Four: First Steps launch
Just yesterday, we got to see a few happy kids in a retro-style world running towards a television that said the same thing as this poster, 'Prepare 4 Launch.' The latest poster was shared by Marvel via the official The Fantastic Four: First Steps handle on X (formerly Twitter) as well as on Instagram.
The official synopsis of the film gives us a fair view of what we will be witnessing in it. It reads like this,
"Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet."
Ralph Ineson is portraying Galactus, a cosmic being who hasn't gotten a proper screentime other than in video games like Fortnite. We got to see him in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, where Laurence Fishburne gave voice to Silver Surfer.
Talking about the Silver Surfer, Julia Garner is portraying the role that uses motion capture for the character. It seems like we are going to see a proper story that features Galactus and Silver Surfer. Though the latter got ample time in the 2007 movie.
While we are already excited about the film, fans must know that Robert Downey Jr. is said to make a cameo as Victor von Doom, setting up a stage for Avengers: Doomsday. Events in Fantastic Four: The First Steps will take place in a different timeline but eventually connect with the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
Other than this, we are also getting Captain America: Brave New World this month, followed by Thunderbolts*, where we are still figuring out what that asterisk means. Additionally, Matt Murdock will officially join the MCU with Daredevil: Born Again in March 2025.
