The Jurassic World Rebirth trailer has just dropped online and from the looks of it, the danger is bigger than ever in this new era of the franchise.
Gareth Edwards is bringing this latest Jurassic Park chapter to the screen that shows Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey's characters at the mercy of nature. Johannson plays Zora Bennett, a cover operations expert, who takes paleontologist Henry Loomis (Bailey) and Captain Duncan Kincaid (Ali) to recover genetic material from dinosaurs who exist in an isolated tropical region since it provides them with a livable climate.
The trailer, which was once expected to drop on Super Bowl LIX, has just arrived online. It promises a significant adrenaline rush from this brand-new chapter in the franchise.
Jurassic World Rebirth trailer shows the dangers that await an all-new squad
Jurassic World Rebirth takes place nearly five years after the events of Chris Pratt-led Jurassic World Dominion. It follows Zora, who gets tasked with securing the DNA samples for a Pharmaceutical company. She brings reliable Captain Duncan Kincaid into her risky mission with Dr. Henry Loomis.
The newly released trailer shows Henry's apprehension as he realizes the dangers that await them. Whether it is him, Zora, or Duncan, they find themselves in life-threatening trouble as they try to save themselves while completing the mission.
Gareth Edwards helms this sci-fi action sequel written by David Koepp. With a robust directing experience under his belt, Edwards will likely bring his eye for detail in this franchise installment that combines action with a lot of adventure. He spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the same:
"Once you're on the adventure, the film doesn't let go until the end credits. The enjoyment of it is in the moment-to-moment chase, escape, scare, horror, curveballs in the whole plotting of the set pieces and the dinosaur moments.”
Edwards also spoke with Vanity Fair in detail about key inspirations behind the look of the on-screen creatures, one of which shows up in the newly-released trailer:
“Adding to his Rebirth dinosaur inspiration were a few other favorites: the skeletal Xenomorph from Alien, the dungeon behemoth from Return of the Jedi, and the original Big Bad from Spielberg’s first Jurassic Park movie. Those references turn up all in one particular twisted dinosaur that turns up in the trailer. ‘Some Rancor went in there, some H.R. Giger went in there, a little T. rex went in there."
Jurassic World Rebirth is set to be theatrically released on July 2, 2025. Here's the film's official trailer:
