More about The Beatles

The main four cast members of The Beatles film series were unveiled at the 2025 ComicCon in Las Vegas. Mendes stated that each film will focus on a particular member of the band, hence there are four films in the series.

The logline of The Beatles biopics reads:

“Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary.”

It is still unclear if The Beatles' biopics will be released each week of April or subsequently in a short time. As per Variety, on Monday, before the presentation, Mendes said:

“We need big cinematic events to get people out of the house.”

The director wanted to make a film on The Beatles for a while but he didn't want it to be in a miniseries. Mendes felt that the story was too big for one film so he opted for a film series. It is the first feature to secure the rights to several of the band's songs including I Am the Walrus and Let It Be. Mendes has stated that the shooting of all four films will take a year to complete.

The Beatles have been documented in various formats before. Peter Jackson made a documentary called The Beatles: Get Back where we got to see the archival footage of the last recording session of the band. Apart from that, Martin Scorsese had also documented the band in Beatles '64.

In terms of narrative fiction, band members, especially John Lennon have been depicted on different occasions. The 2009 film, Nowhere Boy, showcased Lennon in his teenage years while in The Hours and Times, we saw his older version. The 2007 crime film, Chapter 27, revolved around the assassin of Lennon by Mark Chapman. Mendes has also directed films like American Beauty, 1917, and Empire of Light.
