The Batman star Robert Pattinson shares a unique Batsuit problem that you probably haven't heard before

As Robert Pattinson is working his fingers to the bone for The Batman sequel, one of Edward Cullen's senses is heightened, which is his sense of smell. Given that, he thinks that it is strange that batsuits still have the odor of the ones who have played the DC superhero before.

Pattinson first donned the Batsuit in 2022, which portrayed a younger version of the superhero than we are used to. It became a commercial success, raking in $772 million against a $185–200 million budget. The film is creating its own shared universe, where The Penguin has already garnered much praise from the audiences.

The Batman may smell a little more iris in the sequel

Robert Pattinson sat down with Esquire magazine, where he shared a lot of experiences with them and this particular conversation is a part where they discussed scents given his involvement with Dior Homme, whom he has been a face of since 2012. He explains about the Batman cowls:

"Well, it’s leather. But it’s also a combination – because you’re sealed in a leather mask, but you're also extremely anxious all the time. And leather is porous, so it really takes on an emotional scent. When I did the audition for Batman I had to try on all the different cowls [from actors who’d played the role]. Even from 20 years ago, they all still had the scent of each individual actor. It’s kind of strange."

As the conversation advanced, he also mentioned that the upcoming Batman will hopefully smell a little more iris. When Esquire magazine asked him about the best-smelling Batman actor, Pattinson chose George Clooney, who portrayed the character in 1997 and appeared in a cameo in The Flash.

The Twilight Saga actor is going full force for The Batman sequel, as he has been doing weightlifting and martial arts for the role. Plot details aren't out yet but the Caped Crusader needs to up his action game given that crime is likely to rise after the death of Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) in the last film.

Some rumors suggest that the upcoming film will see the arrival of the Court of Owls, which is a secret society of wealthy people in Gotham. As of now, Warner Bros. Pictures hasn't dropped a trailer for the sequel and there isn't likely to be one given the shooting will begin in the third quarter of the year.
