Comedian and actor Katt Williams gave SZA an unusual compliment ahead of her first movie shoot. The 34-year-old singer recently revealed details about her interaction with Williams when the latter said she had a "mental illness." However, she confirmed that Williams, also her co-star, aimed to compliment her for her talent. Netizens are widely reacting to the conversation between the two. An Instagram user penned,

"That’s why her music so good lmao. Duh."

SZA recently sat to interview Kendrick Lamar for Harper's Bazaar Magazine. During their conversation, which turned a bit casual, the Snooze singer leaned toward mental health.

Before asking Lamar about his mental health, she narrated an incident that involved Katt Williams. SZA revealed that she was in jitters ahead of beginning the shoot of her first-ever movie. While she was "freaking out" about it, she met Williams, who told her she was mentally ill as a compliment. Moreover, while she considered skipping the movie's premiere, the comedian helped calm her nerves. She said,

"We shot a movie last night. I’ve never shot a movie before, so I was freaking out. It’s a lot of being scared to be myself. I’m either gonna pretend it never happened or not show up to the premiere."

She added:

"I met Katt Williams [on set]. He told me I was mentally ill, like, as a compliment. He was like, 'Sa, I believe you might have some mental—' And I was like, 'Illness?' And he was like, 'Yes' He said, 'Oh, welcome,'" the singer added.

An Instagram user complimented Williams and claimed that the comedian does not lie.

"He’ll tell you a joke but he won’t tell you a lie!"

Another one called Williams a seer and wrote,

"Katt is a seer. That’s a seers language. We don’t say it all, just enough for you to get it and say you’re welcome because when you finally get it, you gone be grateful."

Details about SZA and Katt Williams' upcoming movie

SZA has joined hands with Keke Palmer for a highly-anticipated film. While more information about the movie's title and plot are currently under wraps, Sony Pictures announced last month that it will hit the theaters on January 24, 2025.

So far, it has only been revealed that the upcoming R-rated film is a buddy comedy, and fans are excited to see SZA and Palmery together on screen. In addition to the two stars, the film also stars Katt Williams, Lil Rey Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and more.
