Following emergency brain surgery, Teddi Mellencamp has shared a fresh health update, stating that more tumors were removed than previously anticipated. On February 26, the 43-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star posted information on her surgery, recuperation, and next medical treatments on Instagram.

Teddi Mellencamp, who received a multiple brain tumor diagnosis earlier this month, said that her physicians initially intended to remove two of the tumors and then use radiation to treat the smaller ones. But the course of the procedure changed.

In her Instagram post, she wrote,

“In full transparency, more tumors were removed than expected: four in total. This fight is not over, but that round has been won.”

The reality star thanked her medical staff, praising the surgeons, physicians, and nurses who made sure her operation went well and made her recuperation comfortable.

Teddi Mellencamp's health struggles and initial diagnosis

On February 12, Teddi Mellencamp initially disclosed her health issue, stating that she had been suffering from

"severe and debilitating headaches"

for a number of weeks. She was admitted to the hospital as a result of the excruciating discomfort. Multiple tumors were discovered by MRI and CT scan, and physicians calculated that they had been developing for at least six months.

Teddi Mellencamp previously said,

“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”

Additionally, she documented the emotional moments leading up to her surgery, which included a clip of her shaving her own head. She added,

“I’m gonna have this look on my bucket list."

Emotional recovery and family support

Up until her most recent post, Mellencamp had mostly kept quiet regarding her recuperation after her operation. But she was visited by her husband, Edwin Arroyave, and their three kids, Dove, Cruz, and Slate.

In February, he updated everyone through his Instagram stories.

“So many people asking for updates. All I will say right now is surgery went well. That said, I’ve never seen @teddimellencamp in so much pain. She’s finally getting some needed rest. I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love.”

Later he shared an emotional post in which he thanked everyone.

A source informed DailyMail.com that their divorce is "off the table" at this time.

Even though her operation went well, Mellencamp subsequently disclosed that more brain tumors were found by the doctors.

Teddi Mellencamp is grateful for the tremendous support that she has received and maintains her optimism despite the challenging path ahead. She wrote in her post,

“The laughter, support, and patience of my kids, my family, and my closest friends is one gift with which words cannot properly express my gratitude."

she continued,

“I see the love and prayers, and they’re definitely helping me stay strong.”
