Two teachers from separate schools in Chino and Moreno Valley have been forced into administrative leave following their anti-Trump remarks in the wake of the 2024 presidential election results. According to CBS News and The New York Post, investigations are underway in both cases.
The incidents took place at Chino High School on November 13 and at Valley View High School in Moreno Valley on November 6. While the English teacher in Chino boldly declared he'd rather get fired than stop speaking about the President-elect being a s*xual abuser, the educator in Moreno, Maximiliano Perez, echoed the sentiments and likened Trump to Hitler.
Teacher in Chino says he's "fighting for his daughter, his nieces, and their rights"
In Chino, students recorded footage of the English teacher's tirade, which has since gone viral. His rant was triggered when he spotted a student wearing a MAGA hat. The professor, reportedly named Calinco, asked him to take it off, citing school policies, and when he refused to do so, the former launched his rants:
“Turn it off and go back to your friggin’ seat now. Go, take that. Can you send security up to room B205. I have a boy who has a Trump hat on and I’m not going to tolerate it. I don’t care if you have a Harris hat or a Trump hat, you’re out of here.”
He continued, asserting that he would not tolerate the show of support:
"Just do the warm-up. I'm pissed. People voting for a freaking rapist and I'm pissed off. I don't care, fire the hell out of me. I'm fighting for my daughter, my nieces, their rights."
According to CBS, footage of the rant went viral, and consequently, the Chino Valley Unified School District forced the educator into administrative leave. The outlet also reports that the professor has not been seen since the incident.
Moreno teacher claims his students deserve better than Trump
Elsewhere, in Moreno, AP history educator Maximiliano Perez was called into question on Tuesday at the Moreno Valley Unified School District board meeting for his meltdown. Per the New York Post, several parents began calling for his termination during the meeting, with several even asserting that he was a racist.
However, the outlet further reports that the school has not yet decided to fire him. Perez called the President-elect a “rapist, draft dodging coward." He said, according to KTLA:
“A racist, draft-dodging coward, treasonous scum. Why would he win? Why did he win? But has Donald Trump quoted Hitler? Yes. Does he embody some of Hitler’s ideas? Yes.”
In an audio recording, as per CBS, Perez said:
"I'm so f---ing sorry you guys, you deserve better. Look at me, you deserve better. Let me tell you, I know a lot of Latino men on this campus, adults and students, that love Donald Trump. And he's called their mothers rapists, he's called their fathers rapists. He's called them criminals, he called them the poison in the blood of our country."
In both schools, students have since staged protests and walked out of classrooms in support of their teachers. Reportedly, students in either school believe that their educators are being ostracized and unfairly penalized.
