TDE manager 'HWOOD' is pushing back on Kai Cenat's claims that the NFL had to add crowd noise to the live broadcast of Kendrick Lamar's halftime show.
In a comment on Instagram, HWOOD accused Kai Cenat of being spiteful for not getting access to Kendrick Lamar's suite, while insinuating that Kai's claims against the NFL have been fabricated. He penned:
"This n**ga MAD MAD cause he didn't access to dot suite!!! lol... I was there thats what it is!! lol"
Kai Cenat claims the crowd was dead during Kendrick Lamar's set, says he is just "being honest"
As reported by Complex, in one of his recent Twitch streams, Kai Cenat was rewatching the Super Bowl halftime performance when at one point, he made the following allegations:
"Oh my God, they [added] sound effects to the NFL sh*t, oh my f*cking God," he said. "Right, so right here, there was no sound. I just heard crowd sounds, oh my life, right here, there was no sounds. F*ck, they add crowd effects? I did not know that."
At another point in the stream, he claimed that anyone who attended the show live would echo his claims:
"Crowd was making no noise," he said. "I'm just being honest. I was there."
He also added that the crowd was only loud when Kendrick showed up at the beginning when Samuel L. Jackson introduced himself as Uncle Sam, when SZA came up for a duet, and when Lamar performed Not Like Us.
“Kendrick Lamar came out, word to my mother, if anybody was there, y’all knew it. Y’all felt it. Crowd was making no noise,” Cenat said. “This is me being honest. I was there. The loudest times of the crowds, it was I think him being shown for the first time, SZA, Samuel L. Jackson being shown for the first time and then ‘Not Like Us.'”
As for his opinion on the show, he noted that Kendrick Lamar could have chosen a better setlist:
"The crowd was not good. They was just not f*cking with the performance, like, up until 'Not Like Us,'" he continued. "But what I will say is, the symbolism behind that performance was top tier. I'm not gonna lie. I paid attention to, like, the sets."
Kendrick Lamar's halftime performance has now become the most-watched of all time, nabbing well over 46 million views on YouTube since the NFL uploaded the video. The segment began with one of Lamar's unreleased tracks, after which, he segued into Squabble Up.
