Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have had a close and supportive friendship for years, often showcasing their bond in social media posts, public appearances and even professional collaborations.
A recent exclusive report on DailyMail suggests that their relationship may have hit a rough patch due to the ongoing lawsuit, involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Although neither has confirmed the speculation. Moreover, a source told USWeekly that the report "isn't true."
Swift has found herself dragged into the legal war between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni as the blame game continues. Lively first sued Baldoni, producer Jamey Heath and two publicists on Dec. 31, after a New York Times exposé that mentioned sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni.
Later, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, seeking $400 million in damages, which is currently scheduled for a court date in March 2026.
Taylor Swift was mentioned briefly in a text message included in Baldoni’s lawsuit, where she was allegedly identified as Lively’s “megacelebrity friend.” The lawsuit alleges that Lively proposed to rewrite portions of "It Ends With Us”, including a crucial rooftop scene, and that Swift attended an “intense” conversation at Lively and Reynolds’ New York City penthouse about the changes to the script.
Reports have varied about how Swift has responded to the controversy. According to the Daily Mail, the singer is trying to distance herself from Lively and avoid any more connection with the situation. Per the outlet, according to an anonymous source, she wasn't even supposed to be involved. However, as mentioned earlier, a source has denied the rumours, per a USWeekly exclusive.
Swift and Lively have been friends since 2015, per People Magazine, frequently supporting each other in public. Reynolds once joked that they ask Swift’s opinion even when naming their kids.
