A recent interview between Pastor Jamal Bryant and Ray J has sparked a controversy. Pastor Jamal Bryant has responded to Ray J’s threat saying that it was “surprising and disheartening” to wake up to such baseless accusations labelled at him by the singer.
He took to Instagram to share his views on the recent incident. He mentioned in the post that he and his team ensured that some part of the interview was edited in order to protect their guest on the show.
“It was both surprising and disheartening to wake up to unfounded threats and baseless accusations directed at me. As part of our commitment to honest dialogue, we ensured that specific comments with potential legal ramifications were edited out of the interview to safeguard the best interest of a brother beloved.” Bryant wrote in his Instagram post.
Reflecting upon the agenda of his podcast he added:
“Our @jamalbryantpodcast podcast’s mission is to foster authentic and constructive conversations with thought leaders, and this episode was no exception.”
“We are a live to tape production that ordinarily makes no edits,” he added. “However, in the spirit of brotherhood it was nixed with the agreement that no other adjustments would be made as The Jamal Bryant Podcast: Let’s Be Clear, endeavors to be earnest and transparent on every episode.”
“Though private agreements have now been brought into the public eye, I refuse to be embroiled in a battle that demeans our community and all that I stand for. I love my brother unconditionally and I stand on my agreed promise.” Pastor concluded his statement.
What were the remarks made by Ray J in his video clip?

“Don’t play the interview, it’s not cleared, it’s out of bounds. Me and Pastor Bryant need to talk because the way I was treated was dirty and illegal.” Ray adds in the recorded video.
Ray J continues to threaten Bryant saying that he should be mindful of the people he is interviewing and if in case he does not follow his orders, he will land in trouble.
“And I don’t like it and I don’t want nobody to play that f**king interview—I don’t care if you from the church or not. Be respectful and do people right. Don’t call people out they name, don’t make people feel like they not safe in a place that they thought they were safe. I’m telling you right now, we need to work it out because if we don’t, it’s gon’ be a problem."
