Superman star Nicholas Hoult is being considered for a role in director David Leitch's upcoming heist thriller. This untitled project is supposed to go on floors in the summer and Amazon MGM is backing it. No specific details about Hoult's role have been revealed so far. However, some sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the film follows,

"A group of savvy bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat-and-mouse game with police."

Mark Bianculli is writing the screenplay. Leitch will also co-produce with his wife and working partner Kelly McCormick under their 87North banner. They will be joined by Jeb Brody, Brian Grazer, and Allan Mandelbaum from Imagine Entertainment. The Superman star is the early casting update for their film.

The Bullet Train director has a new project on the way, and it will star Nicholas Hoult, per Deadline. Amazon MGM is reportedly planning to theatrically release this feature film. No details about the Superman star's role have been revealed at the time of writing this article. However, considering Leitch's past track record, the film might be another fun and exciting package.

The project comes shortly after The Fall Guy, Leitch's action comedy that also served as a tribute to the stunt community. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt played the romantic leads. Leitch is widely known for his work in action films, including Atomic Blonde, Bullet Train, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and Deadpool 2.

Mark Bianculli is penning the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he and Imagine Entertainment have been working on this project for almost ten years. Bianculli has previously written on shows like Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector, Doc, and Amazon Prime Video's Hunters.

Nicholas Hoult joins the film's cast shortly after the critical and commercial run of Robert Eggers's Nosferatu, where he plays a disgruntled husband. Clint Eastwood's Juror #2 starred him as a married man on jury duty, while Justin Kurzel's The Order showed him playing a white supremacist terrorist.

After having a successful 2024 with these acclaimed films, Hoult returns as Lex Luthor in Superman, which acts as a reboot for the DC universe. He has a big responsibility on his shoulders, playing a prominent villain in the Superman comic universe. Previously, he was also a part of a Marvel comic-based project as Beast / Hank McCoy.
