Nick Jonas took to X to issue what is being interpreted as a subtle show of support for billionaire mogul Elon Musk, and his fans were less than happy, to put it lightly. On Tuesday, Musk took to X to announce that Tesla's profits are “up 100 percent” since President-elect Donald Trump came out on top this November, and he did so with a gif of Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas.

“My, how the tables have turned!” his caption read.

One-third of the Jonas Brothers reposted the same with a photo of Musk, and the caption read:

"Take us to the Year 3000."

Fans have since gone ballistic, as many are unhappy about this seemingly apparent declaration of Nick's political inclinations. Here's how one user reacted:

"Suddenly Kevin Jonas became the hottest Jonas brother."

Scores online chimed in:

"My outward hatred of the Jonas brothers has finally been justified!!!" one user exclaimed.
"My childhood has been a lie all the Jonas Brothers are losers and dweebs," another spewed.
"the jonas brothers are republicans????!!" someone else questioned.
"This was my least favorite part of my day," one user added.

The comments didn't end there, as the internet was visibly enraged:

"And just like that…. You ruined everything AGAIN Nicholas," one user dissed.
"i know it’s hard for you guys to comprehend but rich people don’t care about us; even nick jonas," someone opined.
"tweeting at elon musk is definitely a choice," a third person pointed out.
"this is why i stan Kevin," yet another echoed.

Masses online were visibly upset over this latest development related to Nick Jonas' political opinions.

What we know about Nick Jonas' political inclinations

While Nick Jonas typically keeps his political inclinations on the down low, in 2020, he voiced his support for then-Democratic nominee and incumbent President Joe Biden. Back in November 2020, he took to X to cheer Biden on when he beat Trump in his bid for reelection, stating:

"YES MR. PRESIDENT ELECT!!!"

He also axed several shows in 2016 to voice his dissent for North Carolina's contentious “bathroom bill,” aka House Bill 2 (HB2), as reported by Rolling Stone. The Trump-backed policy mandated that transgender individuals use washrooms corresponding to the sex assigned to them at birth.

As for his professional life, The Jonas Brothers are gearing up to make an appearance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2025. The annual countdown to New Year's is slated to air on ABC come December 31, and it will begin at 8 p.m. ET.

As reported by Just Jared, the trio will be partaking in the 20th anniversary celebrations with a “thrilling, career-spanning medley performance."
