Millie Bobby Brown is a big fan of Wicked, according to a recent Vanity Fair feature about her. The article noted that she had a specific request while working on the Stranger Things sets. She requested Defying Gravity,' a song from the hit Broadway musical, to be played while filming their gravity-defying scene.

The Enola Holmes star began her acting journey in shows like BBC's Intruders and ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. She got her breakthrough role in Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers' hit Netflix series, which earned her two Emmy nominations. Now, she will return as Eleven in the show's fifth season. A specific release date has not been revealed yet. However, it is expected to come out sometime in 2025.

During the shoot of the latest Season, Millie Bobby Brown also showed her soft spot for musical theater as she made a specific request on the sets. The show's co-creator, Matt Duffer, recently spoke about this 'Wicked' request by the show's star.

“She [Millie Bobby Brown] asked us to play ‘Defying Gravity’ while she was hovering midair in a harness [during the shoot of ‘Stranger Things’] so she could pretend to fly like Elphaba.”

Millie Bobby Brown is already an established Hollywood star after having proved her skills through projects like Stranger Things, the Enola Holmes film series, the Godzilla film series, and Damsel (2024). However, she is also a "big musical girl," according to a Vanity Fair feature about her. The article detailed her process for getting into character in the latest season of Stranger Things, which involved some stunts to be performed mid-air.

The show's co-creator, Matt Duffer, revealed that Brown wanted 'Defying Gravity' to be played when she performed these risky scenes. It doesn't come as a surprise that the song helped her to "pretend to fly like Elphaba." Matt Duffer feels that Brown knew this hilarious moment would "drive us a little crazy.". Still, he admires her dedication to the role.

“As soon as the camera rolls—barely a second before—that silliness vanishes, and she just…transforms into Eleven,”

The talented star is going to be a part of a few more projects, including the third installment of Netflix's Enola Holmes. She is set to return to Netflix with The Electric State, directed by the Avengers director duo, Anthony and Joe Russo.
