Shawn Mendes thinks Bad Bunny looks "handsome" in his campaign for Calvin Klein. Bad Bunny sent the internet into a frenzy when he recently posted a thread of pictures of him in a Calvin Klein underwear on his Instagram account, as part of a new ad campaign for the brand. Mendes took to the comment section and commented one word, "Guapo", which means "handsome" in Spanish.

Shawn Mendes' comment didn't go unrecognized, with fans liking it, and Pop Crave sharing a screenshot of the image on X. While some netizens wondered what "guapo" meant, others started rumors of Shawn allegedly hitting on the Puerto Rican artist. Yet other users mentioned that men complimenting men should be more normalized.

"A girl can call another girl pretty or beautiful, but a guy cannot compliment another guy without people losing their minds. Make it make sense. We need men to support men, too. Dont make it weird." - another user agreed.
"When Shawn Mendes calls you guapo, you know you’ve officially made it" - a user noted.
"and now i have to pick up my fanfic pen again" - another user joked.
"Is he playing for the other team?" - another user asked.

"I think it's kind of silly" - Shawn Mendes on rumors about his sexuality

Shawn Mendes' recent comment on Bad Bunny's post has had the internet questioning his s*xuality, again. While identifying as straight, Mendes has been open about wanting to explore his s*xuality.

The Canadian singer, during an appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast in 2020, talked about his s*xuality saying:

"It was so, so frustrating for me because there were some people in my life that I was very, very close to who were gay and in the closet. And I felt this real anger for those people."

The singer also mentioned that he found it tricky to comment on s*xuality rumors and doesn't know how to respond in these situations:

"You want to say, I'm not gayubut it'd be fine if I was gay. But also, there's nothing wrong with being gay but I'm not."

Mendes also noted that the rumors have been swirling around for a long time and that "everyone's been calling me gay since I was 15 years old."

During his Denver concert in October, 2024, Mendes brought up the topic again noting that he finds the concept of s*xuality "beautifully complex" while, at the same time, it's "so hard to just put into boxes."
