After the Star Wars legend’s trousers reportedly dropped down to his knees, many were reportedly left shocked. According to The Sun, an insider who sitting close to the stage revealed,

“All the big stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody would have seen it from their angle. Most guests looked horrified but said nothing.”

The insider also added,

“It was a moment that you wouldn’t have believed unless you saw it.”

The Sun’s inside source also revealed that the incident was part of discussions at the 2025 BAFTAs dinner that happened after the main event.

During his brief speech, he stated:

“If you are in the room, like me, you must love film. So, what makes us love cinema so much that we are all gathered here to celebrate tonight. For me, it’s that films create worlds so vivid and stories so powerful that we lose ourselves in them completely. They create immersive cinematic landscapes that feel alive whether they are set here in London or anywhere your imagination can take you.”

Mark Hamill ultimately delivered his short address and presented the Best Film award to Conclave’s team, which was their fourth accolade of the night. In addition to winning the Best Film award, Conclave bagged BAFTAs in Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing, and Outstanding British Film categories.

The Ralph Fiennes-starrer political thriller was nominated across 12 categories. Apart from Conclave, The Brutalist also received four awards at the 78th BAFTAs, including Best Actor in a Leading Role for Adrien Brody and Best Director for Brady Corbet. The Brutalist had garnered nine nominations ahead of the event.
